How to get your child to eat more veggies

We know how important it is for our children to eat balanced meals and snacks, with fruits, veggies, wholes grains, and proteins. Nutrient-rich foods give our kids energy to play, learn, and grow! But it can be a challenge to get our kids to eat this way — especially when it comes to vegetables. Below I am sharing some of my favorite ways to add in veggies to toddler meals and snacks. Hopefully at least one of these will help you out :)

  1. Blend greens into pancake batter. Here’s a great, simple recipe to try!

  2. Make smoothies — try adding in cauliflower, zucchini, avocado, and spinach with a fruit smoothie base (a blog post coming your way soon with specific recipes!)

  3. Add veggies into meatballs, like this recipe here!

  4. Add veggies to your pasta sauce. Even better, buy pasta made from veggies (this brand has some of my favorites).

  5. Make veggie “fries” by cutting parsnip, sweet potato, butternut squash, carrot, or potatoes into strips and baking them in the oven.
